حتما در طی برگزاری المپیک تابستانی پکن، استادیوم ملی پکن که به ورزشگاه آشیانه پرنده هم موسوم است، دیده‌اید. شاید از خود پرسیده باشید که کار طراحی و ساخت این استادیوم را چه اشخاص و شرکت‌هایی انجام داده‌اند.



کار طراحی این استادیوم را شرکت سوئیسی «هرزوگ و دو مورون» Herzog & de Meuron انجام داده است. این شرکت در سال ۱۹۷۸ به وسیله پییر دو مورون و ژاک هرزوگ در بازل تأسیس شد. این شرکت تا به حال برنده جوایز متعدد معماری شده است و طراحی‌های منحصر به فردی انجام داده است. در سال ۲۰۰۶، مجله نیویورک تایمز این شرکت را تحسین‌شده‌ترین شرکت معماری دنیا دانست.

علاوه بر ورزشگاه آشیانه پرنده، علاقه‌مندان ورزش حتما یکی دیگر از شاهکارهای این شرکت را می‌شناسند: ورزشگاه مشترک تیم‌های بایرن مونیخ و مونیخ ۱۸۶۰ موسوم به «آلیانز آرنا» Allianz Arena:



اما کارهای این شرکت مهندسی منحصر به ساخت ورزشگاه‌های مدرن زیبا نیست، شماری دیگر از طراحی‌های زیبای این شرکت شامل موارد زیر است:
