A discussion on characteristic material strengths, characteristic loads, partial safety factor (materials & loads) follows. In Chapter 3, the author presented some methods of structural analysis. Moment distribution (for continuous beams and frames) and the cantilever method were discussed. A short section on shear walls and also moment redistribution is finally presented in Chapter 3.
